The Rift Valley Academy in Kijabe, Kenya is looking for a full-time nurse and committed Christian with a heart to minister to missionary kids through the provision of health care. This individual would need to be currently certified as a registered nurse or nurse practitioner (or equivalent). They would have to be committed to acquiring their Kenyan certification in order to practice in our Student Health Services.
The Student Health Service consists of a team of missionary nurses and physical therapists working in association with a school physician to provide 24 hour–a-day routine and emergency health care for the approximately 500 students of Rift Valley Academy. Student Health Service utilizes the Student Health clinic, the Kijabe Hospital and any special services required in Nairobi (ophthalmology, C.T. scans, MRIs, etc.) to meet the medical needs of our students.
The Student Health clinic (the infirmary) is a twenty-bed facility situated in the center of RVA’s campus. It is designed to provide a place for students to rest and recover from illness away from the dorm. Two treatment/exam rooms are used for procedures such as casting of fractures, suturing, physical exams, etc.
RVA is looking for someone that could arrive in Kenya as soon as Jan 2014 and that would be interested in staying through July 2015. This is a volunteer position. If you are interested in more information, please contact the RVA superintendent, Tim Hall, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
